REPORTING DATE
All teams should arrive at either Haneda Airport or Narita Airport on August 26 (Fri), 2011.  A representative of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will be receiving the teams at the airport and will be escorted by bus to the hotel in Yokohama City.  Please book your flights well in advance because airline booking will be very heavy for the Summer vacation.  If necessary, please obtain Visa for entry into Japan as early as possible.  BFJ is ready to assist your application.

DEPARTURE DATE
All teams should make reservations to depart from either Haneda Airport or Narita Airport on September 3 (Sat), 2011.  LOC will arrange the transportation from Hotel to the Airport

OPENING CEREMONY & WELCOME RECEPTION
The Opening Ceremony will be held on August 27 (Sat.), starting from 18:00, followed by welcome reception at New Yokohama Prince Hotel.  (Official hotel for the Championship)

CLOSING/AWARDS CEREMONY
The Closing Ceremony will be held immediately after the final game on September 2 (Fri.) at the Yokohama Stadium.

PRE-TOURNAMENT TECHNICAL & ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING (Managers' Meeting)
A Pre-tournament Technical & Organizational meeting will be held on August 27 (Sat.)  at 15:30 at the New Yokohama Prince Hotel.  The meeting will be followed by Press Conference at 17:00.  The managers of participating teams are requested to be present for interviews.

UMPIRES' MEETING
Umpires' Meeting will be held on August 27 (Sat.)  at New Yokohama Prince Hotel at 14:00.


TECHNICAL INFORMATION

COMPETITION RULES
The tournament will be played according to the BFA Norms and, if necessary, IBAF Norms and 2011 Official Baseball Rules.

BASEBALL BATS & OFFICIAL BALL

According to the BFA regulations, only one piece wooden bats will be allowed in this tournament. Please refer to the list of bats approved by the IBAF.  BFA official competition ball (Mizuno xxx) will be used.

ANTI-DOPING TEST
Anti-Doping Tests in competition will be conducted according to BFA regulations.

PLAYERS ELIGIBILITY
Only those players who were born on or after January 1st, 1993 are eligible.  Players' passport will be controlled at the Pre-tournament Technical & Organizational Meeting to ensure players' nationality and ages.

DELEGATION SIZE
Each delegation may have a maximum of 23 members (up to 18 Players, 1 Team Manager,  2 Coaches, 1 Umpire and 1 Head of Delegation). Any other extra persons will be at the delegation`s expense.

ACCOMMODATIONS
L.O.C. will be responsible for teams' accommodations, 3 meals a day and local transportation for up to 23 people including an umpire for each team, from  the arrival on August 26th (Fri), to  one (1) day after the completion of the Championship.  The delegates shall be responsible payment for any other extra accommodation and local transportation expenses.  Please inform L.O.C. well in advance if there is any dietary restrictions.  L.O.C will provide a single room for the Head of Delegation and double occupancy for the other officials and players.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Pre-tournament practice sessions for all teams will be scheduled by the Organizing Committee prior to the start of the tournament. Detailed practice schedules will be advised to the participating teams upon arrival in Japan. 

PRE-GAME PRACTICE
There will be a 40 minutes pre-game batting practice for each team, starting with Home team first. There will also be a 10 minute pre-game infield practice for each team, starting with home teams first, as per IBAF rules and regulation.

LAUNDRY SERVICE
There will be laundry service (game uniforms only) at the hotels, provided by LOC free of charge. Laundry pick-up and drop-off schedule will be provided to the teams upon check-in at their assigned hotels.

INSURANCE
Medical assistance and accident insurance coverage will be provided for all the delegations members and tournament officials from the moment of arrival in Japan and to the moment of departure, based on their Final Team Roasters. Public and the third liability insurance will be also effected.  Nevertheless, we strongly ask all the delegations to cover medical and accident insurance themselves also.

ACCOMPANYING SUPPORTERS & ADDITIONAL STAFF
L.O.C. will help to book hotel for any additional staff including families. Teams that are interested in this offer should contact the L.O.C. for booking of hotel accommodation by filling in the forms to be provided later.  They will inform you of availability and room rate. We suggest you request the booking as early as possible owing to holiday season.


IMPORTANT
L.O.C. plans to print programs for this event, and will send you the format to fill in the information including the following.  Your cooperation is kindly requested.
1.  PRELIMINARY TEAM ROSTER.  Please include in this roster: full name, date of birth, position, weight, height, throw/bat
2. TEAMS MEMBERS PHOTOS: Head shots (Passport size) of each player and coaches. Please send the picture by e-mail on JPG format. 
3. FLIGHT INFORMATION: detailed information of the delegation's flight numbers, arrival dates and time so that the LOC can arrange a representative to receive them at the airport.
4. ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL: A list with full names of official extra people travelling with the team. The information is needed only if they choose to stay in hotels arranged by L.O.C.

ALL TEAMS ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO BRING WITH THEM, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
FLAGS: Two (2) national flags.  The size of flags shall be about 97 cm x 148 cm.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: An audio CD. (maximum 45 second version).

For those who arrive in Japan separately from the delegation, please take an airport limousine bus by consulting the time table attached.  Bus from Narita Airport takes about 120 minutes if it comes direct to the hotel, or about 100 minutes to Yokohama Air Terminal from where by taxi (about 3,000 yen) to the hotel for about 20 minutes.  Bus from Haneda Airport to the hotel takes about 30 minutes.

The team and the accompanying delegation will be met by representative of Local Organizing Committee (L.O.C.) on arrival at the airport and will be transported by chartered bus to the hotel. 

Accommodation and Meal Charge at Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel:
Special prices for the visitors to the Championship: @10,000 yen for single room including breakfast, and @8,000 yen per head for twin room (= total 16,000 yen for two people) including breakfast. An additional 1,000 yen per person will be charged for the night of Saturday, August 27.
