IBAF starts Process for 2012 Official Approved Wooden Bats List
Interested manufactures have until February 29 to contact IBAF Office for newly inclusion to 2012 List

The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) has started to collect applications for the Official IBAF Approved Wooden Bats List for 2012. According to IBAF regulations, only wooden bats included in the list will be permitted to use at the IBAF 18U World Baseball Championship scheduled in Korea this summer.

Interested bat manufacturers are requested to contact the IBAF Office before February 29 and deliver sample bats to a designated laboratory by March 30. Standard processing time is approximately three months and the results of testing will be communicated to all applicants.

No wooden bat may be used in any IBAF events without prior approval of the IBAF. Bat makers included in the 2011 list will be granted approval until 2013 and will be subject to the testing from 2014.
