Umpire Nomination for 2012 IBAF Competitions
Each Federation is entitled to nominate up to four umpires for each tournament.

The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) asks national federations to send umpire nominations for the 2012 calendar year. Responses can be sent to ibaf.office@ibaf.org and cc to umpire@ibaf.org by March 26, 2012, using the attached nomination and fitting measurement forms.

For 2012, the following 3 tournaments have been scheduled:
Ӣ I 15U Baseball World Championship in Chihuahua, Mexico, August 16 - 26
Ӣ XXV 18U Baseball World Championship in Seoul, Korea, August 30 - September 8
”¢ V Women’s Baseball World Cup, Edmonton, Canada, August 10 - 19

Each Federation is entitled to nominate up to four umpires for each tournament, Federations should provide the rationale for the nomination. Each nomination should be accompanied by an evaluation of the on-field abilities and fitting measurement of the nominated umpire.

Umpires will be selected on ability and suitability to umpire at the designated level. Consideration will be given to umpires from the Federations sending teams, then from federations located in the Region in which the said tournament is being held, then from the remainder of the member Federations. However please also note that the IBAF Umpiring Commission reserves the option to appoint umpires directly if considered necessary.

Federations who have umpires selected are responsible for the return international transportation costs of their umpires to the host city, with the exception of the IBAF 18U Championship, whereby the expenses will be the responsibility of the Local Organizing Committee. The Local Organization will also be responsible for accommodations, meals and local transportation for the umpires while at the Games.
