Influential Ex-Venezuelan Baseball President Edwin Zerpa dies age 77


World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) President Riccardo Fraccari has paid tribute to Venezuelan official Edwin Zerpa Pizzorno following his death on June 1 at the age of 77.

The Venezuelan baseball leader, who helped launch the Pan Am Baseball Confederation, was influential at the national, continental and world levels, hosting international events and helping to grow the game for more than four decades.

"The international baseball and softball family mourns the loss of Edwin Zerpa Pizzorno, President and founder of COPABE and former President of the Venezuelan Baseball Federation," Fraccari said.
