Masato Mizuno to lead 2020 bid for Tokyo

TOKYO - The Japanese Olympic Committee said Tuesday that Masato Mizuno, a JOC vice chairman, will be the chief executive in charge of business affairs for the bidding committee to be launched in October. In order to avoid conflict of interest, Mizuno resigned from chairman of sports equipment maker Mizuno Corp. on September 5. Governor Shintaro Ishihara will be appointed the chairman of Tokyo's 2020 bid committee while JOC President Tsunekazu Takeda will be the actual person in charge of overseeing bidding activities for the Summer Games.
